Electric tar catcher is a kind of coke oven gas primary cooling equipment which uses high voltage direct current electric field to separate tar droplets and gas. Its structural arrangement can indeed significantly improve the recovery rate of the product.

The electric tar collector is mainly composed of shell, precipitation pole, upper and lower hangers, gas distribution plate, steam purging pipe, insulation box and feed box. The sedimentation pole tube bundle is composed of tube bundles and communicates with the upper and lower parts of the cylinder. The corona electrode device is suspended by a boom in an insulated box at the top. The structure is compact, the resistance is small, and the tar removal efficiency is high.

When the coal gas enters from the bottom of the equipment and flows into the electric field space through the gas distributor, the dust particles in the gas are charged and reach the saturation charge. Under the action of the Coulomb force in the electric field, most of the tar particles carried in the gas are negatively charged and adsorbed on the surface of the precipitation pole along the direction of the electric line, releasing the charge and becoming neutral oil particles. The oil mist particles are continuously condensed on the surface of the polar plate, the particles increase, and finally become oil droplets, which flow to the bottom of the equipment along the surface of the precipitation pole and are discharged through the sewage outlet.

This structural arrangement makes the electric tar catcher have the characteristics of high tar catcher efficiency, small resistance loss and large gas treatment capacity, which can improve the product recovery rate and significantly improve the operating environment. In addition, the electric tar catcher has three structures: concentric circular type, tubular type and honeycomb type, which can be selected according to different usage scenarios and needs.

In general, the structural arrangement of the electric tar catcher reduces the loss of tar by effectively separating tar droplets and gas, thereby increasing the recovery rate of the product.
